Question: Do you *conquer all obstacles* by writing posts that attract and keep readers coming back?

1.)  Write with honesty & authenticity.

Sometimes when I post an article, I admit my character defects and insecurities. I show others I’m ‘human’ no matter where I am in my successes.

Example: No More Fear ( http://bit.ly/cuRw6u )

One of my biggest fears in life is getting lost. Gosh, my palms are sweaty just thinking about it. Unfortunately, having no sense of direction is not only a daunting fear for many writers; they also feel completely lost. And this is a reality.

But, fear no more. I can guide you down a straight clean path to promote you and your books. To ‘conquer all obstacles’ is to have direction.

All you have to do is devise a specific plan and discover your balance.

2.) Write in conversational style and braid the formal style of facts within.

By reading your post out loud, many times you can hear your words clearer than keeping them in your head. Ask yourself if what you said would hold your viewers’ attention.

Varying the sentence length will strengthen your writing and build rhythm.

Example: WHO LIKES TO GET NAKED?

A great title can capture an audiences’ attention…GOTCHA!

Now that I have your attention, I’m going to focus today’s posts on AUTHOR PLATFORMS–the reason why every writer should spend the time designing a bragging article about who he/she is and what they write.

3.) Write with emotion and feel the words you’re sharing. Really express your passion.

Being positive and stating facts shows you respect your passion and are nearly obsessed with sharing the news. Avoid the phrases ‘I think’, ‘maybe’, and the direct phrase ‘you should’, out of your posts. Write with authority, but don’t tell people what to do…let them make their own inferences.

Example: How to be a successful blogger: Really Love Thy Neighbour

As a blogger, our job is not only to supply valuable content; but also, to make the readers feel special. I use the brand or motto, *conquer all obstacles* because it fits EVERYTHING I truly believe my audience can attain. You can *conquer all obstacles*.

4.) Write with a blend of emotions from being funny, heart-warming, and motivating.

This is an area, I have to work at and consciously apply. I can be motivating with no problem; but, I often feel that I’m too serious. Here’s one post I purposely added to remind myself:

Example: If All Else Fails…LAUGH!

The last time you read something that made you laugh, did you walk away?

One of the most responsive status update on my Facebook homepage was a one-liner, fill-in the blank:

“I know when I’ve been on the Internet too long when I________________.” Here are a few responses:

5.) Relate with your readers and show you care.

Example: WHO LIKES TO GET NAKED?

Unless effectively promoted, it will sit shivering and all alone. You and your book will blend in with the other authors and cover jackets like a chameleon taking on the appearance of its background.

Solution: You need to put some clothes on. And I mean dress up really good. You need to stop hiding from all the viewers and come forth. Building an impressive author platform is the solution.

6.) Make your post easy to read. Avoid run-on sentences and large paragraphs.

7.) Take your time posting your article. Let it stew on the back burner for awhile.

8.) Always write what fascinates you. The writing should come easily as you enjoy the process…if not, it may be time to ask yourself about your niche or passion.

Answer: Successful blogging – *Conquer all obstacles* by engaging the reader.
