PROMO DAY – Interview with Jo Linsdell

Welcome, Jo Linsdell, to *Conquer All Obstacles* blog.

Before we begin, please tell us a little about yourself.  Why you are doing all this work for PROMO DAY?

Originally from the UK, I came to Rome, Italy in 2001 where I now live with my husband and our 17 month old son.

I’m the author of Italian for tourists and A guide to weddings in Italy and several ebooks. I’m

also the creator and manager of the multi award winning site http://writersandauthors.blogspot.com

http://theweeklybokreview.blogspot.com and http://writersontour.blogpot.com.

When I have time I also write articles for websites, magazines and newspapers.

PROMO DAY came about because I was looking for opportunities to promote my books using the internet at little or no cost. After attending the Muse Online Writers Conference back in 2006, I searched the internet for similar events aimed at what to do after you’ve written the book and found none. I decided to fill the void and so PROMO DAY was born.

What is PROMO DAY?

PROMO DAY is a FREE online international event for people in the writing industry. A whole day dedicated to promoting, networking and learning.

When is the BIG EVENT?

This years event takes place on Saturday 9^th May 2009.

Who should be interested in attending? (Is this day for published authors or can aspiring writers attend/How about readers?)

Everyone! Avid readers, writers, authors (published and non), publishers, editors, graphic designers, virtual assistants etc… Anyone with an interest in books and writing, from anywhere in the world.

How do we go about registering or what do we have to do to prepare for this day?

No registration necessary. Just turn up on the day and join in the fun!

Is there a cost or something we can do to contribute to help offset any expenses?

It’s free to attend. There is a donation button on the homepage however for people to show their gratitude and support.

What is the format for PROMO DAY? Do we go into chat rooms or what?

The PROMO Chatroom will be open all day. This is where the main action takes place. Everyone can promote their writing, services etc… here, share weblinks, chat about the industry, network, share tips etc…

The Workshops take place in the WORKSHOP chatroom. People just need to make sure they log into the chatroom in time for each workshop. They will have the opportunity to ask questions to the presenter.

Will there be some extra information we can download to transfer and adapt towards our own writing journey?

On the FREE downloads page there will be files packed full of useful information on a variety of topics. These will be ONLY available for download during the event.
